The Trinity: Central Mystery of Christian FAITH and LIFE
The following is taken from the current issue of the Catholics on Campus newsletter.
It’s interesting that this year the exam season opens with the feast of the Holy Trinity. It’s a feast that should give comfort and encouragement to anyone doing exams.

The centre of our Christian Faith is the teaching that the One and Only God exists in Three distinct Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The last five months have really been a long meditation on the presence of the Three Persons in our world and their activity amongst us. We have considered one aspect of this mystery after another:
We have relived the Birth of the Pre-eternal Son of God as a human being. We heard how He was born as a baby through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We saw Him shown to the world at His baptism by John in the River Jordan.
We then saw Him sent out on His Mission by God the Father.
We saw Him go out into the desert on His own from time to time to be with His Father – seeking strength and refreshment to help Him continue His Mission.
We listened to Him putting His whole life into the hands of His Father during the Last Supper. And then we heard Him cry out: “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit”.
And just before His final return to His Father we saw Him send out His apostles to continue His Mission by baptising all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
All three Persons are leading us in our own Mission to continue the work of God the Son in our world.
For every Christian at Monash and particularly for every Catholic, university exams should be simply another step out into the world, and being carried along by the love and the inspiration of these three Persons.
After passing safely through the exams, may the Light from Trinity Sunday continue to shine on you all and light up your path throughout the second semester.
